Colonel Lee, Sang Hun
Deputy Commanding Officer - ROK, Eighth Army
COL Sang Hun, Lee assumed Deputy Commanding Officer – ROKA of the Eighth Army in Korea on 25 February 2026.
Commissioned into the Infantry in 2001, COL Lee has served in a wide variety of positions throughout the ROK and U.S. Army
He previously served as the Battalion Commander of 122nd Mechanized IF; 8th Mechanized Division, Yangju;, Regiment Commander of the Professional Opposing Force Regiment; KCTC(Korea Combat Training Center), Inje.
His staff experience includes as the Combined Plans Officer of C35; CFC, ROK-ADC; CFC under Commander GEN Brooks, Assistant Chief of staff of G3; U.S 2nd Infantry Division, Operation Planning Officer of G3 Directorate; GOC, Policy Issues Officer of Policy Directorate; CFC C5, XO of Vice Chief of Staff of the ARMY; ROKA HQ.
He holds a Master’s in International Studies from the Seoul Nat’l University and MMAS from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth. In addition, and he completed the Infantry Captain Career Course in 2006, Fort Benning. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in French from the Korea Military Academy
His awards include the First Prize Award at the ROK Army College and the Commendation from ROK Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff for Meritorious Service at KCTC.
