SGL APPLICATIONS
The Eighth Army Wightman NCO Academy is in need of qualified Staff Sergeants and Sergeants First Class in Instructor/Writer and Platoon Sergeant positions. If you are interested in working at the academy, you must receive an endorsement from your Brigade Command Sergeant Major first. We will not accept applications without prior approval from your Chain of Command. The position will incur a 12-month stabilization period and is open regardless of MOS. CFD-IC instruction is available at the NCOA if not currently certified. If you meet the pre-qualifications below and have been endorsed by your Brigade CSM, contact our Chief of Training at (315) 756-3509 to schedule an interview.

REQUIREMENTS
PRE-QUALIFICATIONS
- At least the three previous NCOERs
- DA 705 within 6 months
- Meet the body composition requirements in AR 600-9 (DA 5500/5501 if required)
- Soldier Talent Profile (STP)
- Profile if required (Possess “1” or “2” under “E” of physical profile.)
- Have recently held a leadership assignment
- Letter of recommendation/release from BDE CSM

APPLICATIONS
The 8A Wightman NCO Academy needs qualified Sergeants through Master Sergeants for instructor/writer, senior instructor/writer, chief of training, chief of BLC, chief of KTA and deputy commandant positions. The 8A NCOA Talent Management Panel will use a transparent and equal process to consider factors such as previous assignment history and responses to blind panel interview questions. The position will incur a 12-month to 24-month stabilization period and is open regardless of MOS.
