1SG Habakkuk D. Kim entered the U.S. Army in 2008 after completing high school in Seaside, CA. He completed One Station Unit Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma for Basic Combat Training and Multiple Launch Rocket System Crewmember (13M).
His assignments include: MLRS Driver and Gunner, 2nd Battalion 20th Field Artillery Regiment (FAR), Fort Cavazos, Texas; Training Room NCO, Senior Radar Operator, HIMARS Section Chief, and Land and Ammunition NCO, 5th Battalion, 3rd FAR, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington; Platoon Sergeant, 1st Battalion, 38th FAR, Camp Casey, South Korea.
From there he was assigned as the Master Gunner, 3rd Battalion, 321st FAR, and Operations Master Sergeant, FORSCOM HQ, Fort Liberty, North Carolina. 13M Professional Development NCO (Branch Manager), Human Resources Command, Fort Knox, Kentucky; First Sergeant, 1st Battalion, 38th FAR, Camp Casey, South Korea.
His awards include: Meritorious Service Medal (1 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (5 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (4 OLC), Good Conduct Medal (5th), National Defense Service Ribbon, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Drivers Badge, Air Assault Badge, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (3), Overseas Ribbon (3rd), and the Sergeant Audie Murphy Award.
