CPT James Payne

CPT James Payne was raised in Necaise, Mississippi where he graduated from Hancock High school in 2002. He attended from University of Louisiana Monroe where he was enrolled in the Reserve Officer Training Course and then William Carey University.

CPT Payne earned Bachelor’s of Science in Agricultural Business from the University of Louisiana Monroe in 2008 and a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from William Carey University in 2011. He was commissioned in October of 2010 as a 74A (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Officer). He has complete Air Assault School, Pathfinder School, Toxic Agent Training, the Air Force’s Nuclear Weapon Orientation, Hazmat Training, and the Captain’s Career Course.

CPT Payne attended BOLC at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Upon completion he was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company 1st Brigade 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, KY where he served in the Brigade S3 as the assistant CUOPs, FUOPS, and as the Brigade Chemical Officer.

Upon completion of the Chemical Captain’s Career Course in 2016, CPT Payne was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company 1st Signal Brigade in Yongsan, Korea as the Brigade Chemical Officer and Brigade Training OIC.

His awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, German Proficiency Badge, Air Assault Badge, and Pathfinder Badge.

CPT Payne and his wife, Lyndsey Payne, have been married since 2011 and have two sons and one daughter, Gabriel Hunter Payne (4), Jacob Daniel Payne (2) and Annie Douglas Payne (5 Months).
