CSM Jimmy Joe B. Castro

CSM Castro is from the village of Toto, Guam. He enlisted in the United States Army in June 1998; attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri where he graduated as a 12B, Combat Engineer. He reclassified in 2003 to 31L (recoded to 25L), Cable Systems Installer Maintainer.

During his 20 years of service, CSM Castro has served in numerous positions from Team Leader, Team Chief, Squad Leader, Section Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, Operations Sergeant, Communications Advisor, Plans and Operations NCO, First Sergeant, Deputy Commandant, Senior Communications Chief, and Operations Sergeant Major.

His assignments include 84th Engineer Co-2nd ACR, Fort Polk Louisiana; HHC-2nd Engineer Battalion, Camp Castle Korea; Charlie Co-440th Signal Battalion, Darmstadt Germany; HHC-15th Regimental Signal Brigade, Fort Gordon Georgia; External MiTT, Umm Qasr Port Iraq; HHC-5th Signal Command, Wiesbaden Germany; HSC/Charlie Co- 602nd Aviation Support Battalion & HHC-2d Combat Aviation Brigade, Camp Humphreys Korea; Eight Army (8A) Wightman NCO Academy, Camp Jackson Korea; United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, Fort Bliss Texas; and recently HHB- 8A G35, Camp Humphreys Korea.

He attained a Master of Science degree in Management with Excelsior College and a Bachelor of Arts in Transportation and Logistics Management with American Military University.

His military education is varied and includes Primary Leadership Development Course, Air Assault School, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Equal Opportunity Leader’s Course, Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection Level II, Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course, Military Transition Team (MiTT) Class 58, Standardized COMSEC Custodian Course and Local COMSEC Management Software, Combatives Level 1, HAZMAT Driver Training, Digital Training Management System Master Trainer Course, Battle Staff NCO Course, Master Fitness Trainer Course, 2d Infantry Division’s Company Commander/First Sergeant Course, Master Resilience Trainer Course, Foundation Instructor Facilitator Course, and the Sergeants Major Course- Class 68.

He is married to the former Jessica Marie Evangelista and they have four children and one grandchild.
