532ND Military Intelligence Battalion.

The 532nd MI Battalion houses elements that bring the whole collection effort together. This operations battalion processes, analyzes, produces and disseminates intelligence.

History:

The 532nd Military Intelligence Battalion was first constituted on 16 February 1951 at Stuttgart, Federal Republic of Germany, as the 532nd Military Intelligence Company. The unit was reorganized and designated a battalion on 25 June 1958. The "BLACK HORSE" motto and unit crest are a daily reminder of this lineage. During the period June 1958 through 1962, the battalion gained strength and additional capability through the integration of the 521st Military Intelligence Company and the 427th Counterintelligence Corps Detachment. Finally, after nearly 11 years of service in support of United States Army, Europe (USAREUR) and Seventh Army, the 532nd Military Intelligence Battalion was deactivated on 1 June 1962.
